Chef Luigi Tagliasacchi grew up in the restaurant business, learning the ins and outs from his father, Achille "Jack" Tagliasacchi. In his early twenties Luigi went to Italy to further his cooking skills.
He has owned and operated several businesses including Il Monestero Ristorante located in East Hampton in the 80s, a joint effort with his father. In 1993 he and his wife and business partner Robin opened a new concept food establishment in Sag Harbor called Espresso The Little Italian Market which brought in Robin's creativity. Following that endeavor they opened Cappelletti Restaurant & Take Out, in Noyac in 2006.
Luigi and Robin, are the originators of the Focaccia Sandwich. Their idea was born out of one of Robin's test kitchen sessions in the early 90s and has inspired countless imitators across the nation.
The couple have worked together for 35 plus years. They have raised three children and currently live in Sag Harbor.
Cappelletti is a casual eating establishment with some of the best homemade food on the east end. Stop in and say hi.
